The MS2Discovery Institute is built on internationally recognized expertise in the areas of mathematical and statistical modelling within WLU and globally, with a distinctive international advisory board, and collaborative links to research groups around the world. The Institute strives:

  • To conduct research according to highest international standards in those areas vital to the Canadian economy, the well-being of our citizens, and global sustainable development.
  • To support and broaden the relationship between mathematical and statistical modelling and other disciplines, focusing on the priority areas of the Institute.
  • To establish new and strengthen existing connections with similar institutions, groups and individuals across the world.
  • To facilitate novel and exciting joint research, as well as new strategic collaborations, including industry that would allow targeting external funding opportunities.
  • To facilitate and host events promoting leading-edge research that involves mathematical and statistical modelling in interdisciplinary settings.
  • To become a hub for HQP training in interdisciplinary areas involving mathematical and statistical modelling, helping students and postdoctoral fellows to develop their full potential while working on interdisciplinary projects.
